I love being a personal trainer.  I can help people become stronger so that everyday activities are easier.  Carrying groceries or lifting grandchildren, or even just getting on the floor to play with grandchildren, looking good in a swimsuit, looking good on a wedding day, these are all very rewarding to be a part of!
While weight loss is a primary concern of many people seeking the assistance of a personal trainer, weight loss is a secondary benefit of taking charge or your nutrition. The primary benefit of eating a healthier diet is the fact that you can prevent or even turn around heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, MS, some cancers, high blood pressure, IBS, Crohn’s disease, just to name a few.  Hippocrates said it a long time age, “Let medicine be your food, and let food be your medicine.”  I am in no way a medical doctor, but I think it is amazing that food has this effect on our bodies.
What really makes me excited is when a client wants to go from sick and unhealthy to living a healthy, active lifestyle.  Adding exercise and eating more whole grains, beans, vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts and cutting out processed food-like substances make Amazing changes start to occur.  When people realize that food companies just want to sell you tons of processed food that will make you fat and unhealthy, a healthy diet becomes a priority.
